Kelly Sweeney McShane
Kelly Sweeney McShane has served as Executive Director of the Community of Hope since January 2001. During that time, the organization has doubled the number of amount of families it serves. Community of Hope improves the health and quality of life for low-income, homeless, and underserved families and individuals in the District of Columbia by providing healthcare, housing with supportive services, educational opportunities, and spiritual support.
Kelly previously served as Executive Director of Hannah House, a transitional program for homeless women in the District of Columbia. She was a Peace Corps Volunteer in Sierra Leone, West Africa.
Kelly received a Master's in Business Administration from Georgetown University and a Bachelor's degree from Harvard College. She has done consulting on issues such as financial management, fundraising, board development and strategic planning for nonprofits in the D.C. area and the Czech Republic. She is co-author of the book, Winning Ways: Great Nonprofit Management Ideas.
She is a winner of the 2009 Exponent Award for nonprofit leadership from the Meyer Foundation.
