Liran Gordon

Vice President, Corporate Development, XO Communications

Liran Gordon is Vice President, Corporate Development at XO Communications.  In this role, he has primary responsibility for the company’s merger and acquisition activities and helps structure strategic relationships to drive incremental revenue and new product development.  Liran Gordon previously served as Vice President, Business Development at Cogent Communications where he rolled out new product offerings and established alternate distribution programs.  Prior to Cogent, Liran helped restructure several technology services companies.  Previously, he served as Vice President, Business Development at Cable and Wireless.  He had primary responsibility for U.S. merger and acquisition activity, including the multi-billion dollar acquisition of MCI’s Internet operations.  In addition, he evaluated software, wireless, and Internet companies for possible acquisition, sold several of the company’s business units, and handled U.S. equity investments.  Liran practiced corporate law at the Washington, DC firm of Covington and Burling. 

 

Liran received his A.B. degree from Harvard University, his J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania, and an M.B.A. from Wharton.

 

Liran has been active in various charitable activities including Big Brothers/Big Sisters.  He previously served on the Board of Directors of the Washington, DC-based New York Avenue Foundation, which focuses on educational initiatives in the DC inner-city.

 

Liran is married and has two elementary-school aged children.  He and his family live in Potomac, MD.
