Orysia Stanchak

Executive Director, YWCA National Capital Area

Orysia Stanchak is the Executive Director of the YWCA National Capital Area following a diverse career in the non-profit as well as the public sector.

Prior to joining the YWCA in 1998, Ms. Stanchak held the position of Director of Operations for the Boston Housing Authority, Business Manager for the International Conference on AIDS sponsored by Harvard University and relocated to Washington DC in 1995 under a 2-year contract as Project Director with the Housing Research Foundation.  Ms. Stanchak also performed active volunteer work for various community and non-profit organizations.

In addition to her extensive business and management experience, Ms. Stanchak is deeply committed to providing critical services to the community, and particularly to improving the lives of women and their families.   She describes her role as Executive Director of the YWCA National Capital Area as the ideal assignment that allows her to apply her skills and competencies toward making a positive impact in the lives of others.

Ms. Stanchak is a recent graduate of Leadership Greater Washington Class of 2005.
