Michael Velesz

Manager of Infrastructure and Assessments

Michael has been identifying and outsmarting computer glitches for over 18 years, beginning at General Electric Aerospace in the Computer Operations Department where he held increasingly more responsible system support positions for 11 years. Michael evolved with the IT industry and developed a particular expertise in effectively managing the nexus of personal computer networks, system maintenance and user-support. He excels at system evaluation and developing efficient processes. His professional experience also includes six years as a Systems Programmer/LAN Administrator with BMC Software; a global Enterprise Management Software Development firm where he helped safely navigate the BMC IT Infrastructure through the perils of Y2K.

Michael also brings several years of non-profit IT consulting experience to NPower including work with organizations such as the Pan American Development Foundation, the National Association of Mortgage Brokers, and the Alliance for Academic Internal Medicine. He delights in collaborating with clients on technical solutions to fuel their growth and realize the full potential of their IT investment. Michael studied Business Administration as well as Computer Information Systems at George Mason University.

On the personal side, Michael runs to excess at times, having completed nine Marine Corps Marathons; five of which he considers to be training runs for the JFK 50-Mile ultra-marathons that he also completed. He has also earned a first degree black-belt in Tae Kwon Do as well as a blue belt in the Korean art of the Sword known as KumDo. He lives in the Del Rey area of Alexandria with his wife Terrie, and has two teen age children.
