Terry Walsh Roberts

Chief Operating Officer

Terry's career has included experience in the government, private, and nonprofit sectors.  She first came to Washington as an Urban Intern at the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development.  She switched to the private sector where she was an executive in commercial real estate finance and development for over 15 years.  She oversaw the development of shopping centers, apartment complexes and retirement communities throughout the United States.  Terry returned to public service in 1995 as the founding Executive Director of the Maryland Governor's Office of Crime Control and Prevention.   Now, through her work at NPower Greater DC, Terry is using her extensive organization and finance skills in the nonprofit sector.

 

An active volunteer, Terry was instrumental in creating the largest after-school program ever offered at a Montgomery County public elementary school and she directed the education program of a local children's theatre.  She is an active member of the Capital Interfaith Hospitality Network, teaches Sunday School, and has served on the boards of the Transitional Housing Program, the Shelter Foundation, and Civic Works.  Terry has an undergraduate degree in Economics from Knox College and an M.P.A. from The Maxwell School at Syracuse University
