How do I sign up?

After registering for your organization to participate in the Day of Service, NPower Greater DC Region will review your request, contact you to confirm your registration, and send you a waiver and a Memo of Understanding that describes the volunteer project. Requests for volunteers will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis until January 23, 2007.

What organizations are eligible?

The number of organizations that can participate is limited. Preference will be given to:

  • Small and midsize nonprofits (organizations with less than $1.5 million annual operating budget)
  • Nonprofits located within 20-30 minutes of downtown Washington, DC (via car or public transportation)

What does our organization need to do in return?

Once you receive it, please sign and return the "Memo of Understanding" and waiver to NPower Greater DC Region by January 23, 2007 to secure your volunteer match.

On morning of Wednesday, April 4, 2007 at 8:30 a.m., you will need to attend a brief kick-off event and orientation at the Omni Shoreham Hotel at 2500 Calvert Street, NW. Here you will meet your volunteer team and transport them back to your office.

You will work on your project until approximately 2:30 p.m. when you and your volunteers are invited to join the NTC "Science Fair," a mini-trade showcasing nonprofit technology services and products.  This show kicks off the Nonprofit Technology Conference.

Please also prepare to provide lunch for your volunteers.
