It is always
good when you find research which confirms what you already know, and this
study by Lester Salamon at Johns Hopkins University does just that.
In short, it asserts that nonprofits have a serious challenge when it comes
to accessing investment capital. Finding the money to underwrite program
development and strategic planning, as well as any kind of physical
infrastructure, is very difficult for most charitable organizations. It’s
actually a problem that’s larger than you and me and our organizations. It
is a systemic issue.
