Post 2006 Award for Excellence in Nonprofit Management!

This award recognizes an organization's
outstanding achievements in nonprofit management. The award winner is
selected through a competitive process by a panel of individuals with a
wide range of expertise in nonprofit management and is managed by the Center
for Nonprofit Advancement . The winner of The Washington Post Award
for Excellence in Nonprofit Management receives a $5,000 cash award. In
addition, four honorable mentions will also be recognized. Honorable
mention winners each receive a $2,500 cash award. Other finalists are
Arlington Free Clinic, Centro Nia, Community
Ministry of Montgomery County, and N Street Village.

students. They are looking for individuals with experience working in the
IT sector who are interested in volunteering
some of their time to help adult immigrants reach their dream of becoming

Household Hazardous Waste, Electronics For Safe Disposal and Recycling
During Special Collection: As part of the District’s
Earth Day celebration, the DC Department of Public Works (DPW) will hold
its spring e-cycling and household hazardous waste disposal event
Saturday, April 22, from 9 am to 3 pm at the Carter Barron Amphitheatre
parking lot at 16th and Kennedy Streets, NW. This drop-off service is
free and open to all District residents.
