On January 24, 2006, the Nonprofit Roundtable of Greater Washington and NPower Greater DC Region hosted a Disaster Recovery Workshop. The purpose of this workshop (with over 50 attendees) was to help nonprofits take a few steps forward in preparing for disaster. Many organizations find the topic overwhelming, and may therefore even ignore it. You can go online and find out more information on our web site or follow the link below.

Some important take-aways were:
1. Have a plan.
2. Know what you're going to do when the most common situations arise - power failure and fire.
3. There is no generic plan. Organizations have different levels of process complexity, dependence on technology, and risk preferences.

In addition, we are increasing our benefits by adding a Members Only Online Community, which will launch this spring.
