Higher Achievement Program was chosen as the winner of the first annual NPower Technology Innovation Award, sponsored by Accenture! They will receive $10,000 in technology consulting services provided by NPower and free Microsoft software valued at $25,000. Coptic Orphans and Different Avenues were chosen as the two runners-up and will each receive $5,000 in NPower services and $10,000 in Microsoft software, respectively.

The NPower Technology Innovation Award honors nonprofits in the metro Washington, DC area whose innovative use of technology has helped them improve key aspects of their operations and more effectively fulfill their missions. NPower would like to thank all of those who applied; there were a terrific group of applicants this year! Keep up the good work and keep your eyes open for details about next year's award.

AOL Technology Corps: Free Lab Installations for Nonprofits

The AOL Technology Corps is currently seeking qualified nonprofits for Computer Lab Installation projects. Interested nonprofits should submit an application by October 31, 2005 to be considered. Selection criteria include appropriateness of your lab to this project, the availability of AOL volunteers, and the availability of hardware and software.

Pro Bono Assistance - Net Impact Service Corps

The national Net Impact Service Corps program matches teams of local MBA students with local nonprofits to complete a consulting project during the students' spring semester. Projects focus on areas such as marketing, strategic planning, and business plan development that utilize the skills and expertise of business students and professionals. The 2006 Service Corps program for DC area nonprofits will begin February 1 thru April 30, 2006. The deadline to apply is October 21, 2005.
