Technology Assessments

Determining what your technology needs are and planning how you will meet them is the single most important thing that you can do to make the most of your technology investment. This is exactly what we do in a Technology Assessment. Depending on your budget, your time frame, and the complexity of your organization’s tech environment, you may need a Basic Technology Assessment or the more comprehensive Strategic Assessment and Plan.

Basic Technology Assessment

This focuses on assessing whether your organization’s technology infrastructure is stable and secure and able to adequately support your current operations. Using a methodology developed by the NPower Network, our experienced technology staff reviews the state of your technology including your hardware, software, connectivity, security policies, and level of staff technology skills. We provide you with a written summary of the state of your technology and make specific recommendations on what you need to do to bring your systems up to standard. We typically begin our work with new NPower ON! clients this way so that both we and our clients fully understand the state of their network.

Strategic Assessment and Technology Planning

If you are changing your direction or significantly expanding in the near future you should assess your readiness to support this change and identify the activities needed to support it. Using our senior staff of consultants with years of experience in the nonprofit and technology sectors, we will help you understand how your strengths can be leveraged and weaknesses can be addressed to take advantage of the opportunities and overcome the challenges you face in a detailed and actionable manner.

Interviews are conducted with key staff conducted, technology alternatives researched, and recommendations made including timeline and estimated budget. Typically, a presentation of our findings is made to your organization’s senior management and a written report produced.
